Love it or hate it, play Aliens: Fireteam Elite and you’ll be found doing one thing – shooting anything and everything that moves. And with the addition of the new Pathogen expansion, you’ll be focusing that rifle more than ever before.
We’re split on Aliens: Fireteam Elite; some of us absolutely love the attention to detail, the immersion of our lives into that of the Aliens franchise. Others aren’t quite so keen, unable to survive in the intense firefights that play out. You can be sure that we’ll be uniting as a team in hope of pushing back the Xenomorph forces once again now that the Pathogen expansion is here.
Building out the base Aliens: Fireteam Elite game, Pathogen adds in an all-new campaign, one that focuses on the effects of the black go infection that has been inspired by the franchise. It’s here where the pathogen can change flora, fauna and any Xenomorph it hits – and should that happen, you can be sure they will hunt like never before.
The arrival of Pathogen also brings forth the new Pathogen Queen boss fight, three new missions, eight weapons, some Perks, attachments and outfits. Oh, and there are new Emotes too. We know you want Emotes.
In all, the Pathogen Expansion features the following content:
- 3 New Missions as a part of the Pathogen campaign, featuring new enemies and the Pathogen Queen boss fight!
- 8 New Weapons, 2 for each weapon type
- 1 New Perk for each Class Kit that modifies the player’s main ability
- 13 New Weapon Attachments that modify stats and grant special traits
- 2 New Outfits and 6 Head Accessories
- 21 New Weapon Colors and 10 Decals for gun customization
- 10 New Emotes for interacting within Fireteams
But there’s more and in addition to a slew of cosmetics, weapons, and weapon attachments, all players will also get a new and free Hardcore Mode that will test their skills in increasingly difficult battles – expect some permadeath.
And further to all that? Well, there’s a new Ultimate Edition of the game which brings Aliens: Fireteam Elite together with the Pathogen expansion and all five Endeavor Pass cosmetic drops. You’ll find an Ultimate Edition Upgrade in place for those who already have the base game too.
Let us know if Pathogen is enough for you to head back to Aliens: Fireteam Elite.
You’ll find Aliens: Fireteam Elite available to purchase and play from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s on PS4, PS5 and PC too, along with the standalone Pathogen expansion (£11.99) should you need it.
